2 in custody after pursuit of armed robbery suspect ends in Trotwood

TROTWOOD — Two people are in custody after a pursuit in Dayton Monday night.

Police responded to a car taken at gunpoint earlier Monday in Dayton near North Main Street and East Fairview.

Around 9:45 p.m. Montgomery County Sheriff’s deputies spotted the car and attempted to stop it.

The car did not stop for authorities prompting a pursuit, according to Sergeant Alex Magill with Dayton Police Department.

The pursuit ended after two people ran from the car after reaching a dead end in the 1400 block of Swinger Drive.

One suspect was taken into custody shortly after, according to Montgomery County dispatch.

Police, with the help of a K9 unit, searched for the second person who was taken into custody around 10:30 p.m., according to Magill.

The second person taken into custody was not identified as a suspect in the robbery but a person in connection to the case, according to Magill.

Law enforcement from Trotwood, Dayton, and Montgomery County all responded to the pursuit, according to the sheriff’s office.
