La Comedia Dinner Theatre performs ‘A Christmas to Remember’

SPRINGBORO — The La Comedia Dinner Theatre is bringing a joyful experience to theater lovers just in time for the holiday season.

The dinner theater, which was closed for 8 months due to COVID-19, originally planned on performing “A Christmas Carol,” but due to it needing a large cast, which involves children, they wrote their own musical called “A Christmas to Remember.”

It consists of 8 cast members, which allows them to social distance on and off stage.

Joe Adkins, the owner of the theater, explained that in order to open during the pandemic they had to make a few big changes, starting with their dining.

“We are basically able to open because we are a restaurant, we fall under the restaurant guidelines,” said Adkins.

Some of the changes include cutting their seating capacity in half to 300 seats, serving guests food in the buffet line, and not allowing different parties to share tables.

Adkins stated that even though guests are required to wear a face covering while in the theater, he knows they are “smiling underneath their masks.”
