KETTERING — The Kroger Health drive-thru testing site on the campus of Kettering Medical Center is the region's second, but this drive-thru doesn't require a doctor's note.
The testing sight is open through Saturday, and is possible through the Kroger and Kettering Health Network partnership.
Patients can sign up by going to the Kroger Little Clinic's site, answer a series of screening questions and if the automated system tells them they might be infected, patients may then set up an appointment to get tested.
At the testing site, a provider asks questions to verify the patient is not feeling well.
They are then given a swab, to be used themselves, with a health care worker keeping a close watch.
“Very reliable, Kroger has tested this method multiple times before,” John Wiemer of Kettering Health Network said of the test.
The tests are run at a lab in Kentucky, with results expected in 24-48 hours.
All testing is free to patients.

"The governor talks about this every day in the state of ohio that testing is our great limiting step so as we increase testing it helps with screening, it helps with opening up Ohio," Weimer told News Center 7's Sean Cudahy.
This testing method will be coming to other parts of the Miami Valley in the coming days and weeks, Kettering Health Network said.
