Nearly all public areas of The Job Center in Dayton are closed to help curb the spread of COVID-19, the organization stated in a release.
The following entrances are closed to the public beginning April 6:
- The blue entrance; Family Assistance
- The red entrance; Job Services
- The yellow entrance; Specialized Services
- There will be limited in-person public access for services through the green entrance, or Child Support.
The following services will still be available through the green entrance:
- Bus passes for those who need non-emergency transportation to Medicaid-approved appointments
- Payments on overpaid benefits
- Some of the most used Family Assistance forms will be available
- Child support payments
Social distancing will be enforced inside the green entrance for the community’s safety, The Job Center said,
Family Assistance customers will no longer have the ability to scan documents with the closure of the blue entrance.
They will, however, now be able to self-attest their verification during the pandemic by calling 1-844-640-6446.
Customers can also turn verification in at the new drop box in front of the blue entrance.
Anyone who had a state hearing scheduled should call 1-844-640-6446 to reschedule it.
Benefits will continue until the new hearing can take place.
If customers had a hearing scheduled because they were denied benefits, it is important that they call 1-844-640-6446 as soon as possible.

The computers inside the red entrance will no longer be open to the public.
The Workforce Development Department will still be working via phone and email to help those in search of jobs during this crisis.
For those who have lost work because of COVID-19, the application for unemployment is at unemployment.ohio.gov, or you can apply by phone at 1-877-644-6562.
TTY service for unemployment is available at 1-614-387-8408.
