People in need of food assistance can head to the old Salem Mall Property on Shiloh Springs Road from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. according to a press release from The Foodbank Inc.

Foodbank staff will be directing traffic towards the back of the property and ask that guests do not show up before 12 p.m. for food preparation and safety purposes, the release said.

Guests will receive fresh produce, proteins, grains and other products free of charge. The release said it is recommended to have enough space in your car for food to be placed.

This drive-thru is in addition to the Foodbank’s Mobile Pantry program that hosts events in Montgomery, Greene and Preble counties each month, according to the release.

This distribution is designed to help communities throughout the Miami Valley that struggle with food insecurity, the spokesperson said.

Caresource will be sponsoring the event and helping to pass out food to residents.

Questions about the mass food distribution in Greene County can be directed to the Foodbank’s main phone line 937-461-0265.
