Close to 100 dogs being cared for at Montgomery County ARC gathered for a holiday meal together at 4 p.m. on Friday, according to a media release from Montgomery County Business Services.

Bahati & Frey’s Place, a local dog daycare and training club, donated the meals for this event, the spokesperson with Montgomery County Business Services said.

“Dogs need stimulation and enrichment to keep them occupied, especially those in a shelter,” owner of Bahati & Frey’s Place, Maria Ochs, said. “I’m thrilled to be able to offer this treat to the dogs at ARC during the holidays.”

The meals consisted of turkey with gravy, mashed potatoes, vegetables, acorn squash, blueberries, pumpkin cupcakes, oat and peanut butter cookies and an apple Kong, the spokesperson said.

“We’re really grateful to Bahati & Frey’s Place for volunteering their time and energy to do something nice for the dogs at ARC,” Montgomery County Resource Director, Robert Gruhl, said. “These ‘holiday dinners’ are a fun and special treat for the dogs, but they also act as a form of enrichment, challenging their minds and giving them an activity to focus on.”
