Cloudy with a Chance of Podcast: Wildfires, Earthquakes & Wind Storms of the Pacific Northwest

This week on Cloudy with a Chance of Podcast Meteorologist Kirstie Zontini and McCall Vrydaghs talked with Chief Meteorologist Morgan Palmer from KIRO in Seattle about the challenges that come with living and forecasting in the Pacific Northwest.

You may have seen Seattle in the headlines already as they have dealt this summer with the horrible impacts wildfire smoke can have on a city. People have been forced to wear masks outside after several days of dangerous air quality in August. Palmer talks about the set-up that caused this major problem and when the city will get relief.

Palmer also dives deep into what it is like to forecast for an area that has so many microclimates. He even shares a story about a forecast challenge he faced a few years ago that ended up being a great learning experience.
