Police said the baby, a girl, is over 30 days old. Ohio’s Safe Haven Law allows birth parents to give up custody of newborns up to 30-days-old without penalty.

Police have not commented on the baby’s relationship to the woman, if the child was injured or if Children’s Services has been granted temporary custody.

The case is under investigation by SVU detectives.

We’ll continue to update this story as we learn more.
