NEW MIAMI — A man accused of jumping into a Butler County pond to avoid being arrested by deputies has been captured.

Although it was suspected Jones made it out of the pond safely, deputies and members of the Emergency Response Services searched the water for hours as a precaution.

Friday, Jones was located in New Miami by detectives and arrested on a warrant of breaking and entering.

He is currently in custody at Butler County Jail.
