Bass was crossing Cornell Drive at Fotip Lane when he was hit about 1:22 a.m. The vehicle reportedly dragged him about 100 feet.

A second crash report indicates that the Good Samaritan was hit by a second vehicle at the same location about a minute later as he was trying to help Bass. That vehicle also ran over Bass, the crash report indicated.

The second man was taken to a hospital with suspected serious injuries.

The accident remains under investigation. There have been no updates from police about a possible suspect or suspects or the make of the vehicles.
