DAYTON — One man hit by a vehicle early Wednesday has died and a person who was trying to help the man was hit by a second vehicle, according to a Dayton Police crash report.
The Montgomery County Coroner’s Office identified the victim Thursday afternoon as Terrence C. Bass, 28, of Dayton.
Bass was crossing Cornell Drive at Fotip Lane when he was hit about 1:22 a.m. The vehicle reportedly dragged him about 100 feet.
A second crash report indicates that the Good Samaritan was hit by a second vehicle at the same location about a minute later as he was trying to help Bass. That vehicle also ran over Bass, the crash report indicated.
The second man was taken to a hospital with suspected serious injuries.
The accident remains under investigation. There have been no updates from police about a possible suspect or suspects or the make of the vehicles.
