Thieves steal vehicle from Dayton Auto Auction in Vandalia, police say

Vandalia police are investigating after thieves broke into the Dayton Auto Auction and stole a vehicle early Wednesday morning.

Thieves stole a vehicle early Wednesday morning from the Dayton Auto Auction. 

The suspects jumped the fence of the business at 7545 N. Dixie Drive, broke into the building, stole a vehicle and drove through the fence, Vandalia police said.

It’s not clear at this time what type of vehicle was stolen. Officers said they they’ll need to look at video cameras to determine the type of vehicle that was stolen and a description of suspects. 

There didn’t seem to be any damage in the building, officers said.
