Police confirmed a man was shot and killed at the Ronez Manor apartment complex on Wilkes Drive shortly after midnight.

"That was maybe a 60 second walk from my door," Oliver Sanders told News Center 7's Malik Perkins.

The victim was pronounced dead at the scene and police have released little information regarding the circumstances or the victim’s identity.

Sanders says he doesn’t know the victim but fears for his family’s safety.

“I have a niece, two nephews. My mom is out here. I have two sisters out here. I am more concerned about the kids.”

Approximately two hours after the incident, police responded to another shooting involving a male victim shot in the stomach in the 2800 block of Ash Dr.

Sanders says the violence is getting out of control and it seems people are resorting to it more often.

“We had diplomacy. We had an issue, we talked it out. Now we are so scared about what is going to happen we have to pull a gun.”

Police said both shootings are under investigation.
