Sidney police seize large amount of fentanyl in traffic stop

SIDNEY — A minor traffic violation late Friday morning led police in Sidney to seize a large amount of fentanyl.

An officer who pulled over a vehicle around 11:30 a.m. in the 500 block of Brooklyn Avenue saw drug paraphernalia in plain view, according to a Sidney police release.

The vehicle was then searched and 96 full capsules were seized, police said.

The driver, identified as 30-year-old Alex J. Moorman, was arrested and booked into the Shelby County Jail on suspicion of felony trafficking in drugs.
