Police investigate shooting on Kammer Avenue in Dayton

DAYTON — UPDATE @ 7:30 p.m.

“Breathe, breathe,” a 911 caller could be heard saying to a gunshot victim after he called for help.

The man was shot twice around 6:30 p.m. inside an apartment in the 100 block of Kammer Avenue in Dayton and was taken to Miami Valley Hospital. His name, age and condition were not available.

“They were in here fighting, two shots just got fired, possibly three,” a second 911 caller said, adding he did not see the incident. “I grabbed the baby outta here and ran out.”

According to a dispatch call log, a the shooter still had a gun while he ran south before getting into a vehicle described as a white Dodge Durango, which was headed in an unknown direction.

Police and a medic unit have been dispatched on a report of a shooting in the 100 block of Kammer Avenue in Dayton.

The incident was reported just before 6:30 p.m.
