Police responding to suspicious person leads to call for officer assistance

RIVERSIDE — UPDATE @ 6:10 p.m.

A woman was knocking on doors in the 400 block of Pleasant Valley Avenue this evening, which led a resident to call police to report they suspect she was on drugs and acting strange.

When responding officers tried to pat her down, they said she became combative.

The woman was taken to a local hospital, police said.

It is not clear whether she will face charges.

A report of a suspicious person in Riverside this evening led to a “Signal 99” radio call for officers in need of assistance, according to Huber Heights police, which dispatches for Riverside.

Police this evening made a “Signal 99” radio call for officers in need of assistance.

Crews were in the 400 block of Pleasant Valley Avenue in Riverside when they requested backup.

Once help arrived, the radio call was canceled, meaning additional officers were not needed.

We are on the way and are working to find out why backup was needed.
