Death investigation underway after woman found dead in vehicle in Springfield

SPRINGFIELD — Police are investigating a woman’s death after she was found deceased Thursday afternoon inside a vehicle.

Crews were called at 12:45 p.m. to the 900 block of West Jefferson Street, Lt. Jeff Williams of the Springfield Police Division said.

The woman’s cause of death is unknown and under investigation.

Her name, age and hometown have not been released.
