Police asking for help solving Springfield woman’s homicide

SPRINGFIELD — Police are asking again for help solving a Springfield homicide case.

Candance Prunty, 26, was shot and killed at her home on West Mulberry Street in Springfield in 2015. Her case remains unsolved.

“Springfield Police Division detectives now have a person of interest, and they believe other people have information that could lead to an arrest,” Clark County Prosecutor Dan Driscoll posted on social media late Wednesday evening. “We’d encourage anyone who has information about this murder to contact Springfield Police Division detective Ronald Jordan at 937-324-7680.”

Prunty was shot in her head and neck, according to a police report.

Family members found her on the kitchen floor after she didn’t show up to get her children from school. Prunty had three young boys, ages 1, 4 and 7 at the time of her death.
