Missing Mansfield couple’s car turns up in Dayton; Police ask public for help

A car linked to a missing couple from Mansfield was found earlier this week with one of its windows busted in Dayton.

The silver 2003 Toyota Corrolla found Wednesday in the area of West Stewart Street and Wildwood Avenue did not turn up any more clues about the missing pair, 28-year-old Todd A. Burkhart and his girlfriend, 20-year-old Kyla Hayton, according to Mansfield police.

A flyer posted to the Missing Person from Ohio Facebook Page said that Hayton is five months pregnant.

Hayton was reported missing Monday, and was believed to be with her boyfriend, Burkhart. He had been reported missing by family to Ashland police, but was living in Mansfield with Hayton, police said.

Family members told police that both were believed to be traveling together to Columbus, and possibly on to Dayton.

Mansfield police are working with Dayton and Ashland police departments to help find the couple.
