Man sentenced to 31 years to life in Dayton murder, robbery

DAYTON — A Columbus man convicted of murder connected to a 2017 Dayton robbery was sentenced to 31 years to life in prison, according to the Montgomery County Prosecutor’s Office.

Trenton Williams, 28, was found guilty of the shooting death of Taelor Taylor in October.

He was convicted of aggravated murder, murder, aggravated robbery, aggravated burglary, felonious assault and having weapons while under disability, according to court records.

Williams will not be eligible for parole until he has served at 31 years, according to the prosecutor’s office.

On Nov. 28, 2017, police received a 911 call about a dead man, later identified as Taylor, on the porch of a North Trenton Street home.

Surveillance video from the home, showed three suspects entering Taylor’s home with at least two guns.

Williams was the second person convicted in Taylor’s death.

In April, Trashune Young pleaded guilty to involuntary manslaughter, aggravated robbery and having a weapon while under disability, according to court records.
