Man arrested in Kettering scuffle with police is wanted by county, 2 cities

UPDATE @ 3:45 p.m. (Aug. 29): The man who scuffled with Kettering police Tuesday's at a McDonald's on Wilmington Pike that resulted in injuries to three Kettering police officers is wanted by Montgomery County and two cities.

Matthew Fowler, 39, is wanted in Montgomery County on a probation violating, a theft warrant out of Kettering and a warrant out of Riverside for not complying with an officer’s order, Kettering police said Wednesday.

Police said an anonymous caller tipped them about Fowler’s location and they responded to the McDonald’s about 5 p.m. Tuesday.

Fowler became combative while officers were attempting to apprehend him, police said. That’s when a “Signal 99” was issued, which is an urgent call for officer assistance. Police used a taser on Fowler during the arrest.

The three officers suffered minor injuries in making the apprehension. They were treated at hospital and released.

Fowler remains in a hospital, police said.
