DAYTON — A Montgomery County Jail inmate accused of fleeing a work detail now faces felony escape and burglary charges.
Brandon Wayne Dotson, 30, of Harrison Twp., is scheduled to be arraigned Tuesday after his indictment today by a Montgomery County grand jury in connection to the Sept. 20 incident.
He walked away around 11:15 a.m. from a work detail at the Dayton Art Institute, then tried to barricade himself inside a West Grand Street home before changing clothes and fleeing, according to Dayton police.
He was later taken into custody by Grandview Medical Center police, who found him in an alley in the 300 block of Geyer Street, according to police.
At the time of the reported escape, Dotson was serving a jail sentence for a misdemeanor theft conviction out of Vandalia, records show.
