$7K fine paid to save Harem club's liquor license

The Harem Gentleman's Club recently paid a $7,000 fine to the state to save its liquor license following an undercover investigation last September.

The joint operation involved Ohio Investigative Unit agents and Montgomery County sheriff's deputies, Harold Torrens, OIU agent in charge, said in February.

The Sept.27 visit to the club, 5825 N. Dixie Drive, resulted in the club's liquor permit holder being cited on administrative code charges of giving away alcoholic beverages and improper conduct -- nudity.

The Harem was targeted because authorities received an anonymous complaint from the public about possible violations, according to Torrens.

According to the Ohio Liquor Control Commission, the club's permit holder must pay the fine. In February, the permit was under the name Catering Gold, Inc., with Katherine H. Fox as president and Michael K. Fox as secretary.

The commission dismissed the violation concerning the beverages. The fine stemmed from the violation involving improper conduct.
