Fifth Third Bank robbery suspect arrested

UPDATE @ 8:18 a.m. (June 7):

Police have arrested the man accused of robbing the Fifth Third Bank last week.

Scott Dehart was booked into jail on suspicion of robbery, theft and possession of drug abuse instruments, according to jail records.

Official charges have not yet been approved.

UPDATE @ 2:42 p.m. June 4

The unidentified man who on Friday robbed Fifth Third Bank, 1032 Patterson Road, wrote the note demanding money in front of the teller, according to the Dayton police report.

The robber handed the teller a note that stated, “Give me $1,000. Do it like you’re cashing a check. No alarms. You will get hurt,” according to the report.

The teller counted the money and handed it to the robber, who was described as a white male, 6 feet and 180 pounds, wearing a white shirt, baseball cap and a goatee.

Police said later Kettering officers reported seeing a man who matched the robber’s description run away from them in the 2000 block of South Smithville Road.

UPDATE @ 2:34 p.m. (June 3)

Police released surveillance photos of a Fifth Third Bank robbery suspect. The male reportedly handed the teller a note demanding cash and later fled the area on a bicycle.

FIRST REPORT (June 3)

A robbery has been reported at the Fifth Third Bank branch on Patterson Road this afternoon, according to initial reports.

Officers responded to the location, 1032 Patterson Road, around 12:45 p.m.

Initial emergency dispatch reports indicated the suspect was a white male, wearing a white shirt with an emblem on the left chest and a camouflage Dayton Dragons baseball hat. The suspect was believed to be approximately 6-foot-2 and weighing about 160 pounds, according to initial reports.
