DAYTON- A Dayton woman allegedly stabbed her boyfriend right above his pacemaker Wednesday morning. Police were dispatched to the 1000 block of Cumberland Avenue after a male, with a wound in his chest, reported being trapped in a bedroom.
He stated that he was unable to lock the door because the suspect was in the kitchen holding a steak knife.

When officers arrived, the victim, Mark E. Bridges, 59, told police his girlfriend, Zakaya N. Bragg, 43, went out drinking the night before.
Bridges also told police, Bragg would get into a verbal altercation with some friends and came back to the apartment angry and intoxicated.

Bridges advised Bragg to sleep at the apartment and that he didn't want her stumbling around and picking fights.
Bragg was livid after Bridges' comments. They began to argue when she grabbed a steak knife before stabbing him in the shoulder.

Bridges was taken to Miami Valley Hospital with non-life threatening injuries. While being taken into custody Bragg did not want to speak with officers.
Later, police noticed Bragg had a history of stabbing boyfriends and was on parole for an incident quite similar to this one. Bragg is currently being held at the Montgomery County Jail for felonious assault and parole violation.
