Coronavirus: Versailles Poultry Days to be held in August

VERSAILLES — The 2020 Poultry Days will be held this year in Heritage Park in Darke County.

The festival will be held August 14th through the 16th accoding to a press release.

The festival will utilize the amphitheater for entertainment and cars will use a drive thru to buy chicken.

Poultry Days is usually held on South Center Street and this will be the first time in 60 years the festival has not been held there.

Masks will not be required but social distancing, wash stations will be encouraged.

The festival worked with the Darke County Health Department to ensure the safety of visitors.

Tickets can be purchased at Versailles S&L, Johns IGA or the Versailles branch of Second National Bank, and will also be on sale the weekend of the festival.

You can also pre-order bulk chicken at versaillespoultrydays.com. All orders for bulk chicken must be placed by July 27th.

The festival will also be offering free delivery of chicken on Friday. If you purchase two or more coolers, they will be delivered within 25 miles of Versailles by noon on Friday at no additional cost.

Both the Miss Chick and Little Miss Pageants will be held at the old high school.

Carnival rides and a 5K will take place at the festival, however the Grand or Antique Car parades will not take place.
