Coronavirus: Ohio leaders receive national, international praise for handling pandemic

OHIO — Governor Mike DeWine, Lt. Governor John Husted, and Ohio Department of Health Direct Dr. Amy Acton are leading Ohio’s fight against COVID-19.

News Center 7′s Molly Koweek took a look at how the rest of the country and the world are taking notice of how Ohio is handling the pandemic.

Dr. Acton even has her own Facebook group with more than 120,000 members, where people post articles highlighting the way Ohio is taking on the virus.

“Governor DeWine has been really good about airing on the side of caution, and that’s kept us in much better shape,” said Bruce Kennard of Miami Township.

This is something the BBC, an international news-site, talked about in a recent story: “Coronavirus: The US Governor who saw it coming early.”

The New York Times said “He was ahead of the rest of the nation in banning spectators at a sports event and urging universities to move to online learning.”
