Community invited to cruise-in and ice cream social today

WASHINGTON TWP. — Today, the community is invited to enjoy a cruise-in and ice cream social at the Washington Twp. RecPlex from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

The Washington Twp. Fire Department’s annual ice cream social and the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office Community cruise-in is set to return this year as one event, according to a news release.

The community is invited to enjoy classic cars, games, complimentary hot dogs/hamburgers, ice cream, popsicles, and more. All make and models of cars and hotrods will cruise the grounds and be displayed.

Kids will have the opportunity to explore various police, fire, and SWAT vehicles. Children can also paint a fire truck, shoot water at a pretend fire, and meet Sparky the Fire Dog, according to the release.

“This year, more than ever, we are excited to offer this event to our community. It’s a great opportunity for families to come out and celebrate the end of summer before kids return to school,” said Washington Twp. Trustee President Scott Paulson in the release.
