Church pastor arrested for possession of child sex abuse material

TERRE HAUTE, Indiana — A church pastor was arrested for possessing Child Sex Abuse Material in Indiana.

Members of the Indiana State Police’s Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Unit arrested Daniel Willis, 62, of Terre Haute, Indiana, on Monday, following the execution of a residential search warrant.

Detectives initiated the investigation in early 2026 after receiving multiple tips from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children and a second unnamed company.

Detectives applied for and were granted a search warrant for Willis’s residence and place of employment, where he served as Senior Pastor.

While executing the search warrant, detectives seized electronic and digital media devices. Evidence of child sex abuse files was located during forensic examinations.

Willis was arrested without incident and transported to the Vigo County Jail.

He was arrested on 10 counts of Possession of Child Sex Abuse Material, which are fourth-degree felonies.

The incident remains under investigation by the Indiana State Police’s Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Unit
