Springfield native named National FFA President

A Springfield native has just been named the National Future Farmers of America President.

Kolesen McCoy was named the National FFA President around 4 p.m. at the National FFA Convention in Indianapolis.

He graduated from Global Impact STEM in Springfield in 2017 and has been continually involved in the academy since leaving.

“In addition to National FFA President, he was also the first recipient of Global Impact to receive the American FFA Degree,” said Josh Jennings, executive director at Global Impact.

McCoy served as the State FFA President for Ohio before becoming the National President.

“Kolesen has had the support of all his instructors but the community members have come out to support him and his endeavors as well,” Jennings said.

McCoy is currently attending The Ohio State University.

“He is certainly one of those kids who has a heart of service, he chooses to give back,” Jennings said.
