UPDATE: 20-year-old identified as victim of deadly Huber Heights crash

UPDATE @ 11:25 a.m. (Feb. 24): 

The victim of a deadly crash on U.S. 40 in Huber Heights Saturday has been identified as 20-year-old Jonah Dobbs, according to police.

His hometown, and cause of death have not been released.

We’ll update this story as we learn more.

UPDATE @ 2:50 a.m. (Feb. 23):

Speed was a likely cause of the deadly crash on U.S. 40, Huber Heights police said in a release.

The crash involved one vehicle. The only occupant of the vehicle was pronounced dead at the scene.

Huber Heights responded to the scene just after 9:30 p.m.

UPDATE @ 12:58 a.m. (Feb 23):

The crash on U.S. Route 40 is fatal, officials on the scene said.

Alcohol was likely not a factor in the crash, initial investigations showed.

Our crew on the scene said that the vehicle sustained heavy damage.

INITIAL REPORT (Feb. 22):

Emergency crews are on scene of a crash on U.S. Route 40 near the Taylorsville Dam.

Miami County responded to scene and requested assistance from Huber Heights crews at approximately 9:30 p.m., according to Huber Heights dispatch.

We are working to learn if anyone was injured in the single-vehicle crash.
