Bowling Green State University released more details regarding the individual student conduct cases involving the former Pi Kappa Alpha Fraternity in connection to the hazing death of 20-year-old Stone Foltz.
“All 21 students charged were found responsible for a total of 83 violations of the BGSU Code of Student Conduct, including hazing, harm to and endangering others and furnishing alcohol,” Alex Solis, university spokesperson, said in a statement released Friday.
“In total:
- Three students were permanently expelled from the University
- 17 students were suspended from the University for terms ranging from three to eight years
- One student received a deferred suspension”
Solis said the resolutions were “representative of a range of involvement in and responsibility for the events on March 4, 2021.”

Foltz, a BGSU sophomore, was taken to Wood County Hospital and later to Toledo Hospital after an alleged incident of alcohol-related hazing at an off-campus initiation event for the fraternity. He died March 7 of a fatal ethanol intoxication, according to our CBS affiliate at WTOL-TV in Toledo.
The university permanently expelled the Pi Kappa Alpha Fraternity a month after Foltz’s death.
