LATEST: Truck driver suffers life-threatening injuries in Jefferson Twp. ejection crash

JEFFERSON TWP. — UPDATE @ 9 p.m.: The truck driver in the crash on West Third Street (U.S. 35) at North Diamond Mill Road suffered life-threatening injuries and has been taken to a hospital.

The male, who was thrown from the vehicle in the crash, was taken by ground ambulance. CareFlight was called initially, but was canceled.

A Montgomery County Sheriff's sergeant said the accident involved only the pickup that hit several trees and a pole as it headed east on West Third, according to the preliminary investigation.

INITIAL REPORT

At least one person has been thrown from an accident involving at least two vehicles on West Third Street at North Diamond Mill Road.

CareFlight has been called for the one victim, who reportedly was found off the roadway. There is no information about a second victim.

The accident was dispatched just after 8 p.m.

We’re hearing that one of the vehicles involved, a truck, was knocked on its side in the collision.
