Reibold Building The Montgomery County Reibold Building is one of many buildings in downtown Dayton.

DAYTON — UPDATE @ 4 p.m.:

Montgomery County has announced its buildings will reopen Wednesday following the water main break.

As of now, water pressure has been restored at the County Administration Building, Reibold, the Court Complex, Juvenile Court, Coroner’s Office and other downtown buildings, the county said.

A boil advisory will still be in place for the buildings.

INITIAL REPORT:

Montgomery County has decided to close the County Administration Building, Reibold Building, the Court Complex, Juvenile Court, and Coroner’s Office Tuesday because of insufficient water pressure and the boil advisory, Brianna Wooten, county communications director, said Monday night.

However the Montgomery County Board of Elections though will remain open and is accessible for a special election Tuesday, Wooten said.

The boil water advisory went into effect Monday night, following the large water main break along North Keowee Street on Monday afternoon. Montgomery County water customers are not under the boil advisory. Only some city of Dayton water customers located in areas where water pressure fell below 20 psi are being asked to boil water for use until further notice.

The following facilities will remain open: Environmental Services, Solid Waste District, The Job Center, Business Solutions Center, Animal Resource Center, Stillwater Center, and Haines Children’s Center.

Tuesday morning’s Montgomery County Commission meeting at 11 a.m. will be held by video conference via Zoom and live streamed via Facebook (@MontgomeryCounty), commission clerk Emily Bradford announced Monday night.

The commission’s work session has been canceled.
