Titanic Museum Attraction ice wall falls, injuring three people

PIGEON FORGE, Tenn. — Three people touring the Titanic Museum Attraction in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, were hurt when the iceberg wall fell.

The museum’s installation is a large wall of ice that visitors can touch. It demonstrates how cold the ice was on April 15, 1912.

The wall fell on three people who were taken to a hospital for treatment, WZTV reported.

There is no word on their condition or injuries they sustained.

The owners of the attraction said on Facebook they “never would have expected an incident like this to occur.”

The museum reopened Tuesday for guests with tickets, operators said on Facebook.

The Titanic Museum Attraction welcomes visitors as passengers on board a Titanic-like experience where they can touch an iceberg, put their hands in 28-degree water and shovel simulated coal, WVLT reported.

Cedar Bay Entertainment, LLC owns and operates two locations of the museum, one in Pigeon Forge, and the original Titanic Museum in Branson, Missouri, WBIR reported.

The Pigeon Forge location opened in April 2010.
