Riley Gale, singer for thrash metal band Power Trip, dead at 34

Riley Gale, the lead singer of Power Trip has died at the age of 34, his family confirmed Tuesday.

“It is with the greatest of sadness we must announce that our lead singer and brother Riley Gale passed away last night,” the statement, posted on the thrash metal band’s Twitter account, read.

“Riley was a friend, a brother, a son. Riley was both a larger than life rock star and a humble and giving friend. He touched so many lives through his lyrics and through his huge heart. He treated everyone he met as a friend and he always took care of his friends,” the statement read.

According to People magazine, Power Trip formed in 2008, and released “Manifest Destinations” in 2013, followed by “Nightmare Logic” four years later. The latter made Rolling Stone’s list of the top 20 albums for 2017. The band also released a compilation album titled “Opening Fire: 2008-2014” in 2018, as well as a live album earlier this year.

Earlier this year, Gale collaborated with Body Count, rapper Ice-T’s band, for a track called “Point the Finger” and was featured in the video for the song, People reported.

No cause of death was provided.
