The Atlanta Braves will be hosting the Houston Astros in the second of three games scheduled at Truist Park in Atlanta. The Braves took a 2-1 lead in the best-of-seven series with a 2-0 victory against the Astros on Friday.

“He called MLB and wanted to come to the game,’’ Braves CEO Terry McGuirk told USA Today. “We were very surprised. Of course, we said yes.’’

Trump will not be sitting with MLB officials or members of the Braves organization, McGuirk told the newspaper.

“We are going to give him his own suite,’’ McGuirk said.

Trump attended Game 5 of the 2019 World Series in Washington while he was still in office, Sports Illustrated reported.

Earlier this year, Trump called for a boycott against MLB after officials decided to move the 2021 All-Star Game from Atlanta to Denver in the wake of a new voting law in Georgia, according to the magazine.

McGuirk said he was not concerned about the former president’s previous statements, or what reaction he may receive tonight from the fans.

“We are apolitical,’’ McGuirk told USA Today. “We’re open to anyone coming. It’s great that he wants to come to our game.’’

In a statement Saturday, Trump said he was looking forward to attending the game with his wife.

“Looking forward to being at the World Series tonight,” Trump wrote. “Thank you to the Commissioner of Baseball, Rob Manfred, and Randy Levine of the great New York Yankees, for the invite.

“Melania and I are looking forward to a wonderful evening watching two great teams.”

Trump has attended championship games in Atlanta before. He was at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in 2018 when Alabama met Georgia for the college football championship
