DAYTON — UPDATE @ 8:25 p.m.
A 31-year-old Bronx, New York, man was arrested today in Dayton connection to a homicide in his home state.
LaQuan Anthony Oberry was arrested at 1:30 p.m. at a home in the first block of West Mumma Street by the U.S. Marshals with the assistance of Dayton police and Montgomery County Sheriff’s deputies.
Oberry was booked into the Montgomery County Jail, where he is held on a federal detainer.
It is not clear why he was in Dayton or whether he has any local ties.
A man wanted in connection to a homicide in New York was arrested this afternoon at a Dayton home on West Mumma Street, authorities said.
U.S. Marshals, Dayton police and Montgomery County Sheriff’s deputies were at a home around 1 p.m. near the intersection of West Mumma and North Main streets attempting to locate the man.
Officers on scene requested SWAT team members to respond after the man made threats towards officers, investigators said.
The wanted man exited the house and was taken into custody without incident before SWAT units arrived.
The man, whose identity was not immediately available, is wanted in connection to a homicide case in New York, according to police. Additional details about the crime were not immediately available.
