HARRISON TWP., Montgomery County — Northridge Little League is asking for the public’s help in rebuilding baseball fields damaged by the Memorial Day tornadoes.
“(The) baseball board has been diligently working with school board the last 9 months,” a post on the league’s Facebook page read. “Our new school board has decided to let us stay at this location ideally as long as we can keep maintained and running productively.”
The fields are located at Grafton Kennedy Elementary School, which was destroyed by the twisters.
Insurance for the property could take months or years before the league would be able to benefit from the money that could be used to rebuild, organizers said.
The league hopes the community can once again come together to help make repairs to the damage and get the fields ready for summer baseball season. They hope businesses and other organizations might be able to assist.
The baseball fields sustained significant damage to fencing, backstops, dugouts, light poles, concession area and other parts of the property.
