RIVERSIDE — A man who was killed after a multiple-vehicle crash on Airway Road early yesterday has been identified as 20-year-old Maamad Abdullayev.
Abdullayev died in the hospital after sustaining critical injuries in a head-on crash crash on Friday at around 11 p.m.
He was one of two passengers in a Toyota Camry that was traveling west on Airway Road, when it crashed head-on into a Ford SUV. One of the two vehicles appeared to have traveled left of center, according to Ohio State Highway Patrol Sgt. David Slanker.
After this first crash, two more vehicles collided with the Camry and Ford SUV, both BMWs that were moderately damaged.
The second passenger in the Camry also sustained critical injuries in the crash, while two other people took minor injuries.
All four injured people were taken to Miami Valley Hospital.
Neither Abdullayev nor the other passenger in the Camry were wearing seatbelts, Slanker said. He stressed the importance of wearing your seatbelt to prevent the kind of injuries seen at this crash.
