DAYTON — A man was reportedly robbed at gunpoint for over $1,000 while doing electrical work in a Dayton residence Monday afternoon, police say.
The male victim was working in the basement of a house in the 100 block of Grove Avenue around noon, according to a Dayton police report. While working, he reportedly heard a noise upstairs and believed it was his co-worker. He went to his truck to retrieve parts for his electrical work and noticed there was no one in the house, read the report.
He returned to the basement, and after a few minutes realized there were more parts he needed. On his way back to his truck, a male with a black semi-automatic handgun confronted him, read the report.
The reported gunman demanded money, and the victim gave him $1,100, police say. The gunman fled south in the alley behind the house toward Hart Street, according to the report.
Police say the suspect was wearing a black shirt and gray jeans.
