Flood waters wash away bridge in Bellbrook neighborhood

GREENE COUNTY — Flood waters destroyed a bridge over a creek in a Bellbrook neighborhood Friday morning.

Images from our Sky 7 drone show the bridge on North Belleview Drive north of state Route 725 in Bellbrook was completely washed away after severe storms with heavy rain moved through the area Friday morning.

Bellbrook City Manager Melissa Dodd said city leaders attempted to apply for emergency funds from the Ohio Public Works Commission, however the emergency fund is empty until a new fiscal year begins July 1.

The city is having a meeting Friday morning to discuss options for repairs.  The city already has engineers coming to inspect the area this afternoon.

Several other locations across Greene County reported flooding from the morning rain, including Sacket Wright Park along Ohio 725.
