Multiple rooms damaged in fire at Drake Motel in Springfield Twp.

SPRINGFIELD TWP. — Heavy smoke poured from the Drake Motel in Springfield Twp. Wednesday morning as several rooms caught on fire.

Crews were dispatched to a reported fire at the motel at 3200 East National Road around 8:30 a.m.

First units on scene reported heavy smoke in the area and one unit was engulfed in fire, emergency scanner traffic indicates.

It’s unclear what caused the fire to start.

All occupants reportedly were able to safely evacuate, according to emergency scanner traffic.

No injuries have been initially reported.
