Domino’s delivery driver robbed at gunpoint in Dayton, police say

DAYTON — A Domino’s pizza delivery driver was reportedly robbed at gunpoint in Dayton early Tuesday morning, police say.

Since May 12, this is at least the seventh reported armed robbery of a Domino's delivery driver in Dayton, with three occurring in one day.

Around 12:40 a.m., the driver was delivering pizza to a residence in the 20 block of Fernwood Avenue, according to a Dayton police report.

Upon arrival, he noticed that the address was an empty lot. He called the purported customer who told him he was at a different address across the street, read the report.

As the driver made his way to the residence, a man appeared from the side of the house and pointed a semi-automatic handgun at him, police say.

The suspect told the driver to lie on the ground without looking up and demanded money, read the report. Police say, the two men ran off after the driver gave the gunman $20.

The driver drove back to the store, and police were dispatched. The gunman was dressed in a black ski mask, a black long-sleeved shirt and dark colored jeans. There was no description for the purported customer.
