Probation officers find suspected drug lab in Springfield apartment

One man is in custody after Clark County probation officers, performing a housing check, found a suspected narcotics lab in a Springfield apartment, according to the sheriff’s office.

Probation officers found the suspected drug lab in the 200 block of Yellow Springs Street on Friday.

Narcotics detectives sent to the scene found several bottles of an unknown liquid and a white powder in the apartment. They also found chemicals commonly used to make drugs, according to the sheriff’s office.

The man who was arrested, Logan Lebaroff, was taken into custody when he returned to the apartment.

Lebaroff reportedly told investigators he was making a hallucinogen called DMT, not meth.

Dimethyltryptamine is a hallucinogen that can be abused as a psychedelic drug, according to the sheriff’s office.

Ohio BCI agents removed the materials being used to make DMT and deemed the area safe.

Samples of what was taken from the apartment will be sent to a lab for confirmation.

Lebaroff remains in the county jail on a probation violation, but additional charges will be filed against him, according to the sheriff’s office.
