Oakwood Public Safety Department announces death of Public Safety Officer

OAKWOOD — The Oakwood Public Safety Department has announced the death of Public Safety Officer Jesse Schaffer.

Schaffer died suddenly while off-duty on Tuesday.

According to officials, Schaffer joined the Safety Department in May 2018. Prior to that, he served in the United States Marine Corps and was a Trooper with the Ohio State Highway Patrol.

A cause of death was not released.
