Bradford couple convicted for roles in Capitol riot get jail time

WASHINGTON D.C. — The Bradford couple convicted for their roles in the Jan. 6 Capitol riot will spend time in jail after they were sentenced Wednesday.

Brandon J. Miller and Stephanie D. Miller were each convicted on a federal charge of parading, demonstrating, or picketing in a Capitol building.

Brandon Miller was sentenced to 20 days in jail and Stephanie Miller was sentenced to 14 days in jail. Both have to voluntarily surrender to authorities on or after Jan. 1, court records show.

According to a statement of facts unsealed earlier this year, Brandon Miller messaged with someone on Facebook the day before the riot.

“Heading to DC for tomorrow the 6th the really not sure if you have seen anything about it but me and Stephanie are going to witness history,” Brandon Miller wrote in the message included in court records.

Surveillance cameras inside the Capitol showed who federal agents said was the couple, together inside the Capitol building. One of them appeared to be carrying some sort of flag.

A witness also told investigators the Millers were also spotted in a Facebook Live that was posted on Brandon Miller’s account that showed the couple inside the Capitol building, court records read.

The couple are two of at least six people who have been arrested locally in connection to the Jan. 6 riot.
