Recalled toilet flushing device has caused $710K in property damage, 23 injuries

A dangerous toilet flushing device, baby carriers, and wireless chargers are among the latest recalls announced by the Consumer Product Safety Commission.

An accessory that turns your toilet into a high efficiency flusher is under recall by Flushmate.

More than one million Flushmate II 501-B pressure-assisted flushing systems manufactured from Sept. 3, 1996, through Dec.7, 2013, are being recalled after reports of more than $710,000 in property damage and 23 injuries because of bursting devices that can shatter the toilet tank, according to the CPSC.

Don’t use the recalled systems, turn off the water supply and flush the toilet to release any built up pressure.

Brookstone is recalling 164,000 wireless speakers because of 12 reports of overheating and catching fire. An estimated $2,000 in property damage has been reported.

Don’t use the recalled Brookstone Big Blue Party indoor/outdoor wireless speakers in graphite/SKU 849504, light gray/SKU 952645, and 360 with Chromecast/SKU 318417. Dispose of the lithium-ion battery packs according to regulations in your state and city, town or municipality.

Brookstone has filed for bankruptcy protection, so the CPSC recommends calling 866-576-7337 to check on a possible refund.

Eddie Bauer infant carriers sold exclusively at Target are being recalled because the buckles can break and cause your child to fall.

Don’t use the Gold Inc. Eddie Bauer fabric carriers, which have “Eddie Bauer” and “First Adventure” printed on the front. Contact Gold Inc. at 866-600-7205 for instructions about a full refund.

There are eight reports of broken buckles but no one has been injured.

Bedside pockets with wireless phone/device chargers are under recall because of three reports of smoking.

No one has been injured but don’t use the Kikkerland pockets. Contact 800-766-8523 for a full refund.

Bath support seats for babies are being recalled by Tubeez because they pose a drowning hazard for children.

The recalled Tubeez bath support seats were sold in blue with the model code B9150BL and gray with the model code B9150GY.  They have the date codes 1251-0916-enj-nacn or 1434-0617-inj-nacn printed on the underside.

No one has been injured, but don’t use the recalled seats. Contact the Abond Group at 800-886-7947 for a full refund

Hudrolevel Hydrostat Model 3000 boiler controllers are being recalled because the boiler may overheat and start a fire.

Don’t use the recalled Slant/Fin boiler controllers. Contact Slant Fin at 800-873-4346.

Deck railing posts, which can separate from the base and cause you to fall, are under recall by Vista Railing Systems.

The recalled ProBuild Aluminum Posts have PB on the post and were sold in a variety of product names and item numbers which can be found here.
