Weather pattern sets up leaves starting to change color

NOW PLAYING ABOVE

October is normally the time to start seeing leaves change color throughout the Miami Valley, Storm Center 7 Meteorologist Kirstie Zontini said.

According to the Ohio Department of Natural Resources, there has been a slight changing color already this week. Our hot and dry summer has contributed to some early changes, and the latest reports show there is some early change in a few state parks.

Caesar Creek State Park and Indian Lake State Park are beginning to show signs of changes.

“This week the sunny skies will help contribute to some good colors but, we need the overnight lows to cool off more than what we will see this week” she said.

If you are headed out this Monday to find some color, we will see sunshine and scattered clouds with dry conditions. Tonight will be on the cool side dropping into the low 50s.
