VERSAILLES — Nearly three years after a fire ripped through the historical Inn at Versailles and forced its demolition, the hotel now has new life and is back open for business.

The fire broke out in the hotel in October 2019 and it was determined about a year later that developers would demolish and rebuild the hotel. The fire prompted a response from over 100 firefighters from 15 departments in the area to battle the fire.

Members of the community gathered in Versailles Tuesday for a ribbon cutting, marking the official reopening of the hotel.

News Center 7 took a behind the scenes look at the renovation progress last month and spoke with managing director of Hotel Versailles, Jack Olshan, who said he was excited to reopen the hotel.

“Steeped in Ohio pride, we are thrilled to continue the rich hospitality history of Hotel Versailles’ location as well as partner with local businesses in every part of the hotel. We want our guests to experience a property that is sophisticated and surprising, friendly and fancy, modern and memorable,” Olshan said.
