A Greenville man on trial for multiple counts of child rape involving three girls was found not guilty on all counts by a Darke County Common Pleas jury on Thursday.
Derek Peffly, 34, had been indicted on three counts of rape and three counts of gross sexual imposition.
The case stems from a 2014 investigation that culminated in Peffly being accused of engaging in the criminal conduct with the children, all under the age of 13 at the time, in a home he shared with their mother.
Since one of the victims was under 10 years old at the time of the reported sexual abuse, Peffly could have been sentenced to life in prison had he been found guilty.
The trial lasted three days, and the jury deliberated for two hours.
Peffly was to be released from jail Thursday afternoon.
